Lapwing and snipe are favourites of mine and this is a typical habitat in which you might see them. I love watery reflections.
As a child, I used to see hundreds of lapwing in freshly ploughed fields but, sadly, they are in decline. Numbers are now so low that they are on the RSPB red list of species causing the greatest conservation concern.
They are a winter visitor to salt marshes and I look foward to their arrival each year. I just hope they continue to come.
About this Lapwing and Snipe Print
Resting Lapwing and Snipe is a limited edition giclée print, so there are only 25 prints available.
A giclée is a very high quality, fine art, inkjet print. It is printed on acid-free paper using fade-resistant inks, so is expected to last for very many years.
An inkjet printer sprays ink onto paper to produce this archival quality print. The word giclée comes from the French verb gicler meaning to squirt or spray and was first coined by French printmaker, Jack Duganne, in 1991.
