In winter the lapwings arrive. They are such attractive birds but now numbers are so low they are causing concern.<\/p>\n

Occasionally I see a flock of them drop down on to the mudbanks. However their favoured spot is the island in the middle of the lake in Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve (PWNR).<\/p>\n

So when I was asked to produce a logo for the Friends of PWNR, the lapwing seemed a perfect choice.<\/p>\n

I started with a pen and ink sketch.<\/p>\n

Then produced two black and white versions.<\/p>\n

This is the simplified final version of the logo.<\/p>\n
