This was the start of my fascination for coastal landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>Wading birds are a favourite subject and often the best place to see them is on the\u00a0salt marsh. So over the years\u00a0I have grown to value these marshlands. I enjoy studying and sketching this unique habitat. A sense of place is important as wildlife is never seen in isolation but as part of the landscape.<\/p>\n<p>I have been drawing and painting since childhood, so for more years than a care to remember.\u00a0 I paint mainly in watercolour, though as I am self-taught I have picked up my own methods of using this medium. Water, light and movement constantly fascinate me and birds in flight I find very exciting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>I am fortunate to have exhibited my work at some great venues over the years including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mallgalleries.org.uk\/\">Society of Wildlife Artists, Mall Galleries, London<\/a>. This is a very prestigious gallery near Buckingham Palace.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twasi.com\/\">The Wildlife Art Society International<\/a>. Their annual exhibition takes place at <a href=\"https:\/\/natureinart.org.uk\/\">Nature in Art<\/a> in near Gloucester.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-soc.org.uk\/\">Scottish Ornithologists\u2019 Club<\/a>. A beautiful gallery made even more special by a great view over Aberlady salt marsh!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbwps.org.uk\">Cornwall Birdwatching and Preservation Society<\/a>. They kindly invited me to take part in their centennial exhibition.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwt.org.uk\/\">Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Slimbridge<\/a>.
